Q: Which writer inspires you the most?

 

A: I don’t know if “inspire” is the right word, but Robert Cormier has elements of style that I’ve consciously tried to make my own. Still, I’m sure he isn’t the only writer who has affected my writing. Janet Fitch’s White Oleander is written so well that it made me self-conscious.
