Q: Do you have a favorite author?

 

A: No. I have a favorite kind of author. I’m a sucker for surprises and plot twists. I can keep the pages turning with those elements. I’m also fond of writers who write extremely short chapters. (Yeah, James Patterson rocks.) And, of course, I’m one of the millions of J. K. Rowling fans. I can fly through a Harry Potter book almost as easily as I can a comic book, and that says a lot. Also, I made an effort to find everything written by Robert Cormier. He passed away in 2000, and I was crushed when I found that I had reached the end of his titles. He was an awesome writer, always with the surprises and plot twists. (Hey, maybe he’s my favorite.)
